Getting around in Malta

With regard to the means of transport in Malta, you really have a lot of choices, ranging from cheap buses to visit inland to the efficient boats to visit the surrounding islands and even to a ‘water taxi’ service in the Porto Grande.
From the central station in Valletta, buses reach virtually all the towns of the island. The bus station is right at the entrance of the old town (near the colossal ‘Fountain of the Tritons’). Usually, there are buses departing every twenty minutes for any destination, every quarter of an hour for the most popular lines. The price of a one-way ticket is about €1.40. If you stay on the island for a long time, it is definitely cheaper to buy a ‘weekly pass’. For about €12, you can travel anywhere for seven days (except for night buses).

Flight prices are at their lowest roughly 10 days before the departure date. Statistically, the best days to book are Wednesdays and Thursdays. Each time you visit a site, you leave ‘traces’ of the preferences you have selected, via ‘cookies’. Tip: disable your cookies when looking for your flights!
