TOEIC Test and Certification
The TOEIC certification is a globally used assessment that determines the knowledge of English language in a professional capacity. For over 30 years, the TOEIC tests have been used in over 150 countries globally, and by more than 14,000 companies/ language schools/ institutions and so on. This is an evaluation of a candidate’s ability and proficiency, and there is no ‘pass’ or ‘fail’ mark. Certification is valid for a period of 24 months, and guarantees a candidate a competitive edge within the world of international business. After 2 years, if you feel your language skills have significantly improved, then you are able to re0take the exam and aim for a higher score.

Information about the TOEIC
The TOEIC exam consists of two modules: Listening Comprehension and Reading. The exam is paper-based, with a series of multiple-choice questions (a,b,c or d). For the Listening module, candidates are required to listen to various recordings of statements, interviews, short conversations or regular dialogue on generic topics, and must answer a total of 100 questions based on what the candidate has heard. The Reading module also requires the candidates to answer 100 questions. The exam lasts 2.5 hours – 45 minutes of Listening and 75 minutes of Reading. An additional interview that focuses on the candidate’s personal journey will follow, lasting 30 minutes.
Integration of Speaking and Writing
Other skills have been included in the TOEIC examinations, and these are Speaking and Writing. These two modules are separate from the above, and are optional. Before taking these tests, we would advise you to first obtaining the certification for the above 2 mandatory modules.

1. Listening (45 minutes)
Candidates will hear recordings of various types of statements, interviews, short conversations or regular dialogue on generic topics, followed by 100 multiple-choice questions. The test is divided into 4 parts:
- Part 1: Photographs
- Part 2: Question-Response
- Part 3: Short Conversations
- Part 4: Short Talks

2. Reading (75 minutes)
The Reading module will provide candidates with particular texts in which they must respond to 100 multiple-choice questions based on what they have read. The test consists of 3 parts:
- Part 4: Incomplete Sentences
- Part 5: Error Recognition or Text Completion
- Part 5: Reading Comprehension

3. Writing (1 hour)
The test is completed online. It is then sent to the official international correction centre to be assessed and evaluated. It deals with 3 types of exercises, with a total of 8 questions. Applicants must be able to describe photos, respond to a written request, give opinions about general subjects and demonstrate knowledge on vocabulary, grammar, spelling, sentence structure various use of language phrases.

4. Speaking (20 minutes)
This test is carried out online, and follows the same procedure as the Writing module, where the test is then sent to the international TOEIC correction centre. Candidates will have to go through six different exercises with a total of 11 questions. The exercises consist of reading a text aloud (1) , describing a photo (2), answering generic questions (3), answering questions based on information provided by the examiners (4), proposing a solution to a problem (5) and expressing an opinion (6) .
Exam Results for TOEIC
The results of the TOEIC exam are sent to students via an online platform and are certified by ETS assessors. The results have a validity of 24 months. Scores for the Listening and Reading modules can range between 5 and 495, and are related to one of the levels of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) A1 to C1 for language skills.
